Two games in a week saw the u12 Cricket squad grab defeat from the jaws of victory.
Captain Matt Cartridge top scored in both games against North Leamington and Kineton. However, two loose shots, attempting to hit over the infield, saw both of his innings end much earlier than he is capable of.
In this evening’s game, Southam set Kineton 107 to win and were confident that this total was defendable. Three quick wickets for opening bowlers James Taylor and Cartridge increased the belief amongst the squad. Noah Chandler-Smith taking two excellent catches in the covers.
Unfortunately the next Kineton batsmen took advantage of the short boundaries on the leg side, punishing anything short of a length to see them to victory in 14 overs.
Lots to work on at training in the coming weeks (Wednesday lunch and Thursday after school).
