Year 7 Rugby

Dynamite Dion

Southam 40 Harris 0

An explosive performance from centre Dion Tulloch epitomised the excellent progress Year 7 are making. Dion’s superb tackling and driving at the ruck helped to secure an eight try victory against a valiant Harris School, who to their credit, kept tackling to the end.

Powerhouse Nick Houldey opened the scoring, with fellow forward Tom Parkin-Neal also powering over. Full Back Spencer Wadsworth has superb footwork, demonstrating excellent agility and pace to avoid tacklers as he jinked his way to a brace of fine tries. Captain Archie Coats continued to impress with two more tries. Rhys Bennett showed excellent pace in several breaks, one of which produced an excellent solo try. There was also a try in the corner for Jacob Sly, who got his reward for supporting an excellent break from Hooker Harry Latus.

Herculean Houldey

Southam 15 Bilton 0

A superb man of the match performance from second row Nick Houldey proved crucial against able opponents. Nick’s strength and pace make him so hard to stop once up and running and he scored two excellent second half tries. But Nick’s tackling and strength in the ruck and maul are also invaluable.

Try of the match was finished off by the talented Full Back Spencer Wadsworth. Excellent rucking over the ball from forwards including Dylan Willis, Will Scott and James Taylor gave Scrum Half Taylor Stevens, clean ball to release the backs. Excellent quick passing from Coats, Tulloch and Finley Simms released Spencer into space to finish the fine team move. Wingers Ethan Coulter, Charlie Morrison and Jack Barley-Morey all made good breaks and need more ball passed to them as they have the space on the pitch to finish attacks.

Two great victories lads! Keep up the commitment at training on Wednesday nights to make the most of your undoubted potential!
